About — Creative Impact Consulting
Our story

We believe creativity
is the most underused
force for change.

Creative Impact Consulting was founded on one conviction: organizations doing the most important work in the world deserve the most powerful strategies, stories, and tools to do it.

I started this practice because I kept watching brilliant organizations fail to communicate their brilliance — and I knew that was a fixable problem.

How we got here

Not a consulting firm.
A creative practice.

Creative Impact Consulting didn't start with a business plan — it started with a frustration. After years working inside nonprofits and alongside corporations, our founder saw the same gap appear again and again: organizations with powerful missions that couldn't communicate them powerfully.

The problem wasn't effort. It wasn't even resources. It was strategy — the wrong kind, built for the wrong goals. So we set out to build something different: a practice that treats creativity as a strategic tool and strategy as a creative act.

Today we work with nonprofits that punch above their weight and corporations that want to do more than check a box — helping both translate genuine commitment into visible, measurable, lasting change.

The journey
2010 — The beginning
Government client, first lesson
Developed strong communication, relationship management, and consensus-building skills within complex government environments.
2011 - 2012 — Growing in design practice
Expanded into brand direction
Began working with nonprofits in need of brand identity and messaging. I began seeing the connection between strategy and how you show up visually.
2013-2015 — Corporate partnerships
First CSR & DEI engagements
Began partnering with organizations and companies seeking to move beyond performative commitments — bringing the same rigor we apply to mission-driven nonprofits.
2016 — Training & workshops
Building internal capacity
Educated leaders and staff on communication strategies, outreach practices, and community engagement approaches.Translating technical concepts into understandable processes.
Today
20+ organizations. Still learning.
We've supported organizations across sectors and geographies — and the work keeps getting better, bolder, and more honest.
What drives us

Values aren't on a wall.
They're in every project.

These aren't aspirational. They're the standards we hold ourselves to — and that our clients hold us to.

Value 01
Boldness over safety
We push clients toward the bolder, braver version of their work — even when it feels uncomfortable. Playing it safe is the riskiest strategy of all.
Value 02
Community first
Every strategy is grounded in the lived experience of the people you serve — not just data, not just optics.
Value 03
Honest partnership
We tell you what you need to hear — with care and directness.
20+
Organizations supported across nonprofits & corporate
Value 04
Creative rigor
Beautiful work and strategic depth aren't opposites — we refuse to choose between them. Every deliverable is held to both standards simultaneously.
Value 05
Lasting capacity
The impact should outlast our engagement. We build teams, not dependencies.
A little more about us

Beyond the strategy decks & deliverables.

Fueled by good coffee
Every discovery call, every strategy session, every late-night edit — powered by the good stuff. Black, always.
Readers first
Our bookshelves are messy: Octavia Butler next to bell hooks next to a dog-eared brand strategy textbook. We read everything.
Music matters
Every client project gets a playlist. Seriously. The right song at the right moment has started more than one breakthrough conversation.
Community-rooted
We volunteer, donate, and show up in our own communities — because consulting can't just be talk. We hold ourselves to the same standards we set for clients.
The people

A small team with
outsized ambition.

Founder & Lead Consultant
Quinnée Zimmerman

Quinnée has spent 15+ years at the intersection of creativity and systems change — working inside nonprofits, alongside corporations, and everywhere in between. She founded Creative Impact Consulting after realizing that the organizations doing the most important work were often the least equipped to communicate it.

Her work spans strategic planning, brand direction, DEI communications, and facilitation — always with the same north star: make the impact visible. When not deep in a client engagement, you'll find Quinnée writing about theology and culture, developing programs for young women through The Imago Initiative, creating artwork in her studio, serving her community through civic and alumni leadership, or chasing big ideas over coffee while her chihuahua, Bella, supervises from a nearby chair..

Our philosophy
The world doesn't need more good intentions. It needs better strategy, bolder stories, and braver organizations willing to act on both.
Strategy is a creative act
The best strategies aren't built in spreadsheets — they're built from deep listening, honest questioning, and the courage to name what's actually in the way.
Creativity is a strategic tool
A compelling story isn't decoration — it's infrastructure. How you communicate your mission directly determines whether people fund it, join it, or fight for it.
Impact belongs to everyone
The best outcome of any engagement is an organization that no longer needs us. We build capacity, not dependency — because real impact lasts long after we leave.
